Corporate Social Responsibility
Our Corporate Social Responsibility company policy outlines our efforts to operate a socially and environmentally responsible business as part of our day-to-day strategic and operational activities. Aglaïa Jewellery strives to be a responsible business that meets the highest standards of ethics and professionalism. The scope of this policy applies to our company. We are also committed to working with our suppliers to support their pathways to operating ethical and sustainable businesses. Our CSR Process is an internal resource that we use to shape and track our progress.
Our company’s social responsibility falls under two categories: Compliance and Proactivity.
.
Compliance refers to our company’s commitment to legality and integrity. For legal compliance, our company will:
- Respect the law
- Honour its internal policies
- Ensure that all its business operations are legitimate
- Keep every partnership and collaboration open and transparent
Our ethics are to always conduct business with integrity and respect for human rights.
Proactivity refers to our active engagement in initiatives, business methods and systems that promote human rights, support communities and protect our natural environment.
10% of all proceeds will go to a charity selected for each month.
Core Values
Our core values are at the heart of what drives Aglaïa Jewellery London. They are fundamental to our everyday operations and decision-making processes. They define our organization and represent the essence of what we stand for.
PROVIDING A SAFE AND DIGNIFIED WORKPLACE
It is important to us that our staff have access to a safe, healthy working environment that is free of harassment, discrimination, and child labour. We are committed to providing such a workplace within the organisation, in addition to paying fair wages.
CULTIVATING ENVIRONMENTAL CONSCIOUSNESS
We prioritise products that are made of materials from sustainably managed sources that have minimal impact on the environment. We are committed to recycling in our own operational location, and we continue to improve our efforts to reduce our overall environmental footprint.
PAYING FAIRLY AND PROMPTLY
Our partnerships with our suppliers are built on trust and respect. In the spirit of fair trade, we purchase supplies at fair trade prices that provide a living wage. We pay our suppliers promptly, knowing that families rely on the income to meet immediate needs. As such, we ensure that all suppliers we work with exercise full discretion in determining their prices based on the true costs of labour, time, materials, sustainable growth, amongst others; and the payment method that best fits their operational needs.
EMPOWERING WOMEN AND ENSURE THE RIGHTS OF CHILDREN
We believe in advocating for and protecting women’s rights, and support employment and skill development opportunities for marginalised and disadvantaged women. We believe women should be empowered to work and care for their families while moving towards economic independence and self-sufficiency. We also support the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and we do not condone child trafficking and exploitative child labour.
ADVOCATING FOR HUMAN RIGHTS AND SOCIAL JUSTICE
We recognise that individuals’ gender, class, age, and ethnoracial identity, among other factors, are often the root causes of their marginalization from economic and social opportunities. We promote access to equitable employment and other opportunities for marginalised communities. Therefore, we expect to protect and uphold the human rights of our staff regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, age, ability or disability, or any markers of identity. We are committed to raising awareness about human rights and social justice issues through our work.
